- Before the party, collect shoeboxes for the number of children that will be attending.
- Designate a space in your home or party venue for a decorating station, and provide glue, glitter, colorful tissue paper, markers, construction paper, and any themed embellishments for the children to decorate their pony houses with.
- Be sure to protect the space if need be by layering old newspapers or plastic tablecloths.
Mane Makeover
- Have the girls give each other hair makeovers like they would their ponies.
- Purchase colorful ribbons, glitter and other rainbow inspired embellishments.
- Then, give them free reign to design elaborate, colorful hair-do's for one another.

- Cut the extra streamers left over from your decorations into short pieces. You should make sure you have a color for each team. (i.e. team 1 - yellow, team 2 - pink, etc.)
- Post enlarged images of two or three ponies on a backyard fence, garage wall, or even a tree. You can do this easily by taking images from a Google image search, enlarging them and printing them. Make sure you have a poster for each team and that they are posted at an equal distance from the race's starting line.
- Divide the girls into teams.
- Distribute three streamers of the appropriate team color and with a piece of tape on their tops to each of the girls.
- Have them stand behind the starting line in single file and let the race begin!
- The idea is to have each girl run to the poster, tape her tail on the pony, run back, tag the next runner, and return to the back of the line to await her next turn. The first team with all their streamers attached to the pony wins!
