Quick Slumber Party Breakfast Bites
Choose two or three of these kid-friendly ideas for a delicious, mess-free breakfast buffet!
  1. Cereal is a quick and easy way to curb hunger and satisfy a young child’s sweet tooth. To keep everyone happy, pick up multi-packs of single-serve size cereals (base it on the number of guests you’ll have). That way, everyone can choose their favorites and you can control the portion and cleanup.
  2. Hardboiled eggs are another smart, mess-free way to give everyone a little protein with their breakfast. Plus, they can be cooked in advance and require no messy pans to clean up afterwards.
  3. A crisp delicious fruit salad will round out their breakfast nicely. The day or night before, cut up a variety of seasonal fruits (for summer, try apple, strawberries, blueberries and pineapple) and mix with a bit of lemon juice, water, sugar and/or a touch of honey to keep it all fresh for the next morning.
  4. A yogurt bar is a super-fun way to give kids lots of healthy choices at once. Buy large containers of plain vanilla yogurt. Then, set out toppings such as cut-up fruit (from your prepared fruit salad), granola, almonds or any other toppings you already have at home so the kids can build their own yogurt parfait.
  5. Bagels and cream cheese are often a weekend staple in so many homes. If your kids love them, run out in the morning and pick up a dozen or so. Be sure to have a few topping choices such as cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly and regular butter.
