For the party, two long tables were created by joining together many existing tables at the restaurant. The table décor was inspired by the theme of the book and the blue and green color scheme of the book cover.
A long, white table cloth was placed on the table. A table runner was created from blue and green paper and placed down the center of the table.
Low, hedged arrangements of white peonies were placed in small groupings down the center of each table.
Lara pre-set the seating arrangement, and each place setting had a double sided green place card, with blue writing.
The guest's names were hand calligraphied on one side of the place card. On the other side, there were individual questions, written by Gigi that each guest had to answer. Below are some sample questions:
----Your husband is in Page Six - with his girlfriend - what do you do? (And how many bullets do you use?) ----Do you think divorce is the new marriage? ----Would you rather be unhappily married but financially stable, or happily divorced but financially unstable? ----Is there anyone's marriage you covet, and why? ----If you're single, do you feel like your married friends envy you? If you're married, do you feel like your single friends envy you? ----Which of your friends would date your husband if you weren't in the picture?
One menu was created by calligrapher Jillian Ye-Pham and then copies of that menu were made and printed on white paper with green writing.
The menu was adhered to a blue backer and placed at each table setting.
Continuing with the theme of the book, each place setting had a queen chess piece and a rhinestone tiara.
