Accommodating both kids and parents can be a challenge. Try to serve enough options to suit both. And don't go crazy when it comes to the kids' menu, you'll never please all the moms out there when serving their kids, so try not to get offended and enjoy.
- Kids:
Organic animal crackers, organic banana bread squares, turkey hot dog slices, juice boxes and even a few fun French fries served in personalized containers should do the trick.
- Adults:
Mini BLT sandwiches wrapped in personalized wrappers, crab salad, water with personalized labels, soft drinks, beer and wine.
- Custom Labels:
The custom labels, wrappers and French fry containers add a theme and consistency to the party. It's an inexpensive way to give your party upscale appeal.
- Serving:
In my case, the hotel provided all of the food and servers, but if you're doing this at home, ask grandparents and other relatives to each bring a kid-friendly dish (this usually means cheap and easy to make) and then ask them to help serve the food during the party. The adults will enjoy a trip down memory lane with the kids' menu. Just make sure to have some adult beverages on hand for them.
- Colored Ice:
Another fun and creative way to add a festive and customized look to your party is to put ice in cold metal bowls and then add food coloring so the ice matches the theme of your party.
