Whether your kids spend the day at camp or running around the backyard, all that activity is bound to work up a mean thirst. Surprise them after they eat their lunch or dinner with some bug juice to refresh and revitalize!
This tasty summer drink recipe that will have them giggling - despite it's name, it doesn't require real bugs, but they'll get a kick out of it anyway!
While you can keep them hydrated throughout the day with lots of cool water, fresh juice and a glass of milk at lunch, consider going for something sweeter when the play day comes to an end.
Kids will be ecstatic when you let them wet their whistle with this citrusy concoction that does to thirst what bug spray does to mosquitoes. It’s certainly more of a sugary sip than what you might normally serve them, but with a long day of activities behind them, the kids deserve a special treat!
Ingredients:
31/2 cup lemonade
1/2 cup limeade
Splash citrus soda such as Sprite or Squirt
2-3 drops green food coloring
Ice
Directions:
In a jar or tumbler combine the lemonade and limeade. Next, stir in the food coloring until your drink is a bright shade of green.
Add in the ice and a splash of soda. Serve on a hot summer’s day to a smiling kiddie!
