Mother's Day Homemade Gifts: ABC Book of Mom

Kids enjoy a dose of creative freedom with this inspiring Mother's Day craft.

Using a blank notebook, the letters of the alphabet, and all sorts of art supplies, kids can author their very own book. The only requirement is that the content describes all the best reasons for loving mom. Have your kids show mom they care and shower her with appreciation this Mother's Day with this great craft idea!

Not only is it a gift mothers will treasure for a lifetime, the crafty book requires kids to think of inventive ways to incorporate all of the ABCs.  Your child will be so proud of themselves that they were able to author a book all on their own that their mother can read and appreciate always.

Supplies

1 notebook (we prefer the Marble bound kind)
crayons and markers
magazines or clip artwork
cardstock
crafty embellishments (pompoms, stickers, buttons, stamps, etc)
glue

Directions

Help the kids follow these simple instructions to give their mother the best Mother's Day yet!

Step 1. Decorate your notebook. Be sure to add on some mom-inspired embellishments! Sticker's, stamps and any cut outs from magazines of things that their mother loves will make her smile. Put in photos with them and their mother or activities that they have done with their mother together are great additions!

Step 2. Then, fill your book with loving thoughts of mom using the alphabet as your guide. For example, A is for mom's delicious apple pies, and B is for baking cookies with mom! Continue to decorate each alphabet letter with stickers, crayons and love and you will be sure to Wow Mom! For an extra touch, have the kids leave hand prints on the author page by painting their hand and stamping it.  Or have the girls put on mommy's lipstick and kiss the page for her at the end.

Mom will be sure to adore and love this homemade gift that she can cherish forever.  But don't limit yourself to just Mother's Day, this book can be a great birthday gift for mom as well!
