We simply love apple pie and no pie is coplete without a delicious, warm and goey filling. This filling is the perfect way to fill your pie and your party guests bellies! This sweet filling is just what your pie needs!
Ingredients
5 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and thickly sliced
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 1/2 tablespoons sifted cornstarch
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
In a large bowl combine peeled apple slices, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and brown sugar together.
Mix together until all the apples are coated with ingredients.
In large pot cook apples for 10-15 minutes on medium heat. Transfer to a sheet pan to cool.
Set aside apple mixture until you are ready to fill your pie shells.
