When hosting any Asian themed cocktail or dinner party the menu is always important.
For Starters
Kick the night off with a few Asian themed party snacks like fortune cookies, rice crackers and lychees, all of which can be purchased from any super market and set out in advance of your guests arriving.
For the Main Meal
Try my recipe for Spicy Beef Stir Fry. It's a simple dinner recipe that feeds a crowd and can be served up fresh without too much effort. This dish is always great for a mixed crowd that may have varying levels of love for Asian food.
For Dessert
If time allows, you can go the extra mile by hand dipping the fortune cookies in chocolate as the perfect after dinner snack.
But we particularly love to serve Orange and Ginger Cupcakes.
Homemade Vs. Ordering Out
Now, for those of you party hosts who prefer to go a bit more all-out with you Asian theme party menu, or want to devote 100% of your time mingling with guests (and not in the kitchen) here's our tip: order out!
Do you have a favorite Chinese, Thai or Japanese restaurant? Well, leave your main menu up to the pros and focus your efforts on mixing up Asian theme cockails instead.
Be sure to order in a few platters so that there is plenty to go around.
This is a sophisticated dinner party though, so don't just leave out packets of dipping sauces and hot mustard. Pour them into festive rice bowls. It will make it easier for guests to dip and makes a pretty presentation too.
And though it goes without saying, we're going on record - stage your take out in a more formal manner, please!
