Baby Reveal Cupcakes to Celebrate the Surprise

Sure you could send out paper announcements to share the good news, but we really love the idea of getting those closest to you together for a special reveal. Make the news extra sweet by having everyone bite into these cupcakes at once to see if the baby-to-be will be a boy or a girl!

Ingredients

1 White Cake Mix, or your favorite cake recipe
White Frosting
Gumballs (either pink or blue)

Directions

Step 1: Bake cupcakes as directed according to your recipe and let them cool completely.

Step 2: Center a gumball on top of the cooled cupcake and gently press the gumball down into the cupcake. You want to try and press the gumball into about the center of the cupcake.

Step 3: Frost the cupcakes as you normally would so that the gumball is completely hidden from view.

Step 4: Rather than just leave as is, make some two-sided cupcake flags with scrapbook paper and toothpicks to decorate with. Cut small pennants from pink and blue paper, then secure one of each color together on the toothpick.

Step 5: Add a decorative band around the cupcakes with the same paper to create a coordinated and festive look.

Step 6: Pass out your cupcakes to all party guests once the big moment arrives. On the count of three, have guests bite into the cupcake to see if they'll be celebrating the arrival of a new baby boy or girl!
