Baked Apples

This is the perfect dessert when you feel like something light but sweet to end your meal. There’s an easy non-dairy variation for vegans, too. All your guests will definitely appreciate this lightyet satisfying dessert. This is a great dessert option for those who are trying to watch their diets and dairy intake. These baked apple desserts are expremely easy to prepare, which makes them a fabulous dessert option, for the hostess who has her hands full with all his or her party planning!

Ingredients

4 granny smith or yellow delicious apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup brown sugar
1 ½ tablespoons of butter or margarine, in slices
1 cup apple cider

Note: Serves 4

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Core apples and remove about an inch of skin around the top. Place apples in a casserole dish (make sure they’re standing up straight).

Combine cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg in a small bowl, and sprinkle mixture into apple cavities. Top each cavity with a slice of butter or margarine.

Pour apple cider around the apples, cover the dish with foil, and place the apples in
the oven for 45 minutes.
