Basic Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
1 package chocolate butter cake mix
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup oil
1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350. Generously grease two 9” round pans or a Bundt pan. Mix all your ingredients together using a mixer. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes clean. Cool completely. Remove to cake stand and frost.
Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups confectioners' sugar
Directions
Mix butter and cocoa and beat until smooth. Add milk, vanilla and salt and beat again until smooth. Gradually beat in the confectioners' sugar until frosting is smooth. Add more milk or sugar to desired thickness.
