Coming up with a Halloween party theme that is both new and spooky can be tricky. It seems that witches and jack-o-lanterns are everywhere these days!
So, when I saw these Bat Scare invitations from Pear Tree Greetings with hauntingly spooky bat eyes, I knew that this year I was going to go for a bat theme to get the party flying in the right direction!
Decorating for a bat theme is simple and takes very little effort, especially if you have such an inspiring invitation and are handy with a pair of scissors.

I used bat decal stickers to decorate our party table, but you can do the same thing with black paper.

Our little trick or treaters loved the flying bats that joined them at the table. Adding flying bats to your place mat, glasses, serving trays meant that everyone could enjoy the bat theme without the hassle of eating around large table decorations.

I tied together the polka dot design on my cute Halloween invitations from Pear Tree with printables and ribbons. I used the both dotted decorations to embellish the table, making it welcoming and spooky at the same time.
At each place setting I set party bag favors filled with goodies, wrapped in a black and white ribbon and tied together with a printable medallion.

My invitation's design also carried through to the Halloween cupcakes I made.

Keeping the table white and black with accents of yellow from the printables made decorating easy and simple, and really brought the yellow of the printables to life.
