Beanie Weenies and Biscuits

Coming up with a menu for a kids birthday party isn't always easy. There are food allergies to consider, picky eaters to contend with and not to mention, a budget to manage. While pizza may seem like a great go-to choice, try considering other options first.

A great starting place, as with so many aspects of party planning, is with your chosen theme. For a western themed birthday party like the one I threw, this recipe is one that will meet all the demands a kids party menu lays on the host.

When it's chow time on the range, serve the little cowpokes a hearty meal of "Home on the Range" beanie weenies and biscuits. Every kid I know loves beanie weenies and this recipe is the right combination of sweet and savory.

Ingredients:

2 cans Bush's baked beans, Original flavor

1/4 cup Molasses

1/4 cup Honey

2 Tablespoons yellow mustard

8 turkey hot dogs - sliced

Directions:

Begin by sauteing hot dog slices in a skillet until surface is caramelized.

Meanwhile combine beans, molasses, honey, and mustard together in a baking dish.

Add in hot dogs and mix well. Cook at 350 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes or until heated through.
