Mix up a hearty bowl of cereal for the kids, made the old fashioned way.
Keep the sleepover menu creative by adding homemade granola cereal to your next breakfast feast. Great as a cereal served on its own, as yogurt topping or as a healthy snack. This granola is berry good for everyone, and makes breakfast planning easy because it can be made in big batches and stored for up to 4 weeks.
Ingredients:
3 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup of mixed nuts
1/2 cup of unsalted sunflower seeds
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
1/4 cup of maple syrup
1/8 cup of Hazelnut oil
1/8 cup of vegetable oil
3/4 teaspoon of sea salt
1 cup of dried cranberries
1 cup of raisins
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 250 F.
In a large mixing bowl, add the oats, nuts, coconut, seeds and brown sugar, giving it a quick stir to combine all the ingredients.
In a separate bowl, combine the maple syrup, oil, and salt, stirring well before adding it to the dry bowl mixture.
Once fully blended, pour the granola onto 2 sheet pans and cook for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve an even color across the granola.
Once it is cooked, remove your pans from the oven, and once cool enough to handle, pour into a mixing bowl and fold in the dried fruit.
If not eating immediately, store in an airtight container for up to four weeks.
