Big Band Party Ideas

Play all the big band music for people to either enjoy or dance to. Remind everyone if they do not have something in their attic to wear, they can find things at local flea markets for a cheap price.

Here's the way to make the best out of your big band party.

Invitation

Let's Go Back in Time and swing with the big bands of the 1940's. Come along and enjoy memories of the past. Bring any photographs of family and/or friends from that era to share with others.

Decor

Hats from the period. Mens and womens hats purchased from a flea market. Any 1940's items you can find at the local Good Will or flea markets. Paper streamers.

Food

Lots of dips and vegetables. Crackers and chips. Deli tray of assorted deli meats and assorted breads and plenty of Hellmanns Real Mayonnaise to spread on sandwiches. It's all buffet.

Drinks

Soft drinks and hot cocoa or cider if the weather is cold. Wine coolers.

Other elements

The music should all be out of the 1940's. There are sheets passed out with questions all pertaining to the 1940's or the big band era. Whoever gets most questions right goes home with a big band era cd.
