Summer time is the perfect time to get everyone outside enjoying family activities.  Liven up your next game of catch with a game of Bossy Ball.

Recommended Number of Players: 4-10 people

Ages: 6-10 years old.

Supplies: A basketball, tape, paper and a pen for making the instructions.

Set Up:  Write a number of simple instructions on slips of paper, such as "spin in place," "bounce the ball," "clap your hands," and "hop on one foot." Make sure to include one 'you're out' instruction.  Tape the paper instructions securely to the basketball.  Use the black dividing lines on the basketball as dividers between instructions.  Before starting the game, all players should form a circle.

How to Play: Players toss the ball to each other across the circle, calling out the name of the intended recipient as they throw.  The player who catches the ball must perform the action written on the ball facing up when they catch it.  If you drop the ball, fail to follow the instructions without dropping the ball or catch a 'you're out' instruction, then you are 'out'.  The last player standing wins!

Adapt By: Making the instructions easy for younger children, or harder for older children.
