Bridal Shower Recipe Box

From the guest list and the event location to the refreshments, activities and décor, the hostess of a bridal shower is charged with the unique duty to plan a party that not only reflects the style and tastes of the bride-to-be, but will also make each guest feel like an important part of the celebration.

One way to do this is to ask each guest to take part in creating a cherished party favor for the guest of honor: A recipe box. 

Whether the bride-to-be is a cooking connoisseur or a kitchen novice, a recipe box is sure to be a meaningful memento from her shower that will also prove to be useful as she prepares for life together with her new mate.

Recipe Box How-To

To create a recipe box, simply mail an empty recipe card out with each shower invitation and request that each guest shares one of her favorite dishes, drinks or desserts with the bride.

The recipe cards can be homemade or purchased, and for an enhanced presentation, the recipe cards can be personalized with the couple’s new monogram. This is a nice way to blend the family recipes and traditions together, especially for a shower that is attended by relatives on each side.

Also request that each guest write a tip to be included in a “recipe for a successful marriage” on the backside of the card.

On the invitation, ask each guest to bring the completed card to the shower with her and upon her arrival add each card to a box that is divided by dish type or course.

Before the end of the shower, perhaps after the meal or before opening gifts, present the completed box to the bride-to-be. She is sure to savor not only the family recipes and tasty meals, but also the morsels of wisdom for a successful marriage from her loved ones.
