This homemade birthday card idea is great to use for a child's birthday or to send to the grandparents. Using the inside of cereal boxes and children's original artwork, you can create a one-of-a-kind birthday message.

Directions for Making Birthday Cards Out of Cardboard Cereal Boxes

  • Supplies:
    • empty cereal box
    • scissors
    • glue
    • crayons, markers and/or finger paints
    • scrap paper and other craft materials
  • Following the creases on the cereal box, cut out the front and back panels.
  • Glue the printed side of the two pieces together so that only the blank cardboard is visible.
  • Have kids decorate one or both sides of the card. Let toddlers scribble away. Older kids may like to use materials such as glitter, chenille stems and googly eyes to create pictures of things such as balloons, birthday cakes or people
