Photo booths have been around for ages, but they seem to be especially popular lately. It's easy to see why - they’re such a fun way to get everyone involved at a party or wedding. Practically, it’s also a great way to have a photo document of your whole guest list for memories.
If you’re incorporating a photo booth into your event, you should consider making some chalkboard speech bubble props! Guests can get creative & write fun messages for whatever the occasion – well wishes for the bride & groom, advice for the mom-to-be, or birthday wishes for the birthday boy!
If you own a jigsaw, you can create this prop yourself with inexpensive materials.
Supplies:
Thin piece of smooth plywood
Jigsaw
Sandpaper
Primer
Chalkboard paint
Scrap wooden board
Wood glue
Chalk
Directions:

Step 1: On a thin piece of smooth plywood, sketch out the shape of a speech bubble. Use a ruler to create straight edges for the sides, then add rounded corners.
Step 2: Using a jigsaw, carefully cut out the speech bubble shapes out of the plywood.
Step 3: Sand the edges to remove any splinters and create a smooth, rounded edge on all sides. Wipe down the boards to remove any dust.
Step 4: Prime the plywood cut-outs. I used spray primer, but you could also apply standard primer with a roller.
Step 5: Apply a few thin coats of chalkboard paint. I covered both sides with a spray paint version, but you can also buy chalkboard paint in a quart.

Step 6: Once dry, use wood glue to attach a scrap piece of wood to the back of the speech bubbles. This will make it much easier to pose with in your photo booth.
Step 7: Set out some chalk for your party guests, and watch them get chatty in your photo booth!
