Ingredients

1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup sliced ginger
1/2 cup vodka
3 tablespoons candied ginger cut in to small pieces
1 bottle chilled sparkling wine

Directions

Simmer water, sugar and ginger in a small saucepan uncovered for 10 minutes. Here, you are basically making a ginger infused simple syrup.

Remove mixture from heat and let it cool.

Stir in vodka and place in refrigerator until cold.

Then, strain ginger from simple syrup mixture.

For an extra touch of elegance coat the rim of your glasses in sugar by rubbing the rim with a lemon wedge then dipping it in sugar.

Next, add a few pieces of candied ginger.

Add about 1 tablespoon of simple syrup and top it off with sparking wine.
