Tasty, festive, and easy to eat.. that's how we would describe the perfect Christmas foods! This deliciously edible Christmas wreath is made with crescent rolls, cream cheese, sour cream, broccoli and red and green veggies. Beautifully garnished with a green bow made from celery leaves, it's a crowd pleasing treat that looks great on the Christmas buffet, too!
You can choose to fill your wreath with whatever you like - perhaps some salami, pepperoni or ham?
Ingredients
2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon dill weed
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 cups chopped fresh broccoli florets
1 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
2-3 celery leaves (enough to tie a bow, optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix together your cream cheese, sour cream and the other ingredients in a bowl.
Remove crescent roll dough from packaging, and unroll. Separate the pieces and arrange them in a circle (pizza pan works great for this!) with the wide ends facing in, overlapping. You want a flush, flat bottom.
Next, layer the cheese and vegetable mixture into the crescent roll form, so that it just coats the dough that will be on the bottom.
Fold over the outer, pointy flaps. The idea is to create a look like the picture above with the top not completely covered so the filling is still visible.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust has turned golden brown.
Cool for 5 minutes before carefully transferring to a serving platter - this isn't easy, but with a couple of wide spatulas you should be good! Cool completely.
If you'd like, form a bow garnish with celery leaves and lay atop the bread wreath.
