This year, to keep my Super Bowl recipes on the healthier side I'll be using fat free cream cheese and cheddar cheese, salsa in place of the chili, and baked pita or tortilla chips instead of chips.
There are so many ways to switch up fatty football food and give it a healthier twist, that anyone who really wants to eat healthier but still have fun with food can.
Below, my fresh, healthier version of chili cheese dip. Serve it up at your Super Bowl party to maximize taste, but limit the calorie intake!
Ingredients
1 package of fat-free cream cheese, softened
1 can of chili - low sodium
1 8 ounce package of shredded cheddar cheese - low fat
Directions
Spread the cream cheese around the bottom of a baking dish.
Top with the chili.
Cover with shredded cheddar cheese.
Microwave for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serve with tortilla chips.
