Ice cream cake just got served - in a glass.
Summer parties are the perfect time to indulge in a decadent liquid dessert and for the ice cream social I had for my daughter's birthday, I made sure to have a birthday-worthy milk shake on the menu.
Incorporating the chocolate cake I had leftover from my ice cream cupcakes turned out to be a stroke of genius as it embellished my party menu with a perfectly themed dessert without the added pressure of creating a completely new recipe. Plus, it was so nice not to toss out excess cake!
For our ice cream social we tried to keep the sugar content at a minimum. We opted not to top the shake with whipped cream and sprinkles, but adding that extra wow with festive toppings will no doubt be a welcomed treat from your party goers.
Ingredients:
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup of chocolate cake
3 cups of whole milk
1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup
Directions:
Add your ingredients to a blender and blitz for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately.
Top with optional whipped cream, sprinkles and cherries for an added festive feel.
