These cookies are perfect for a holiday cookie exchange! They combine two of our favorite, holiday flavors: peppermint and chocolate! You cannot possibly go wrong with this awesome combination! this sweet confection will delight your guests and fellow party goers alike!
Ingredients
1 package sugar cookie dough
16 ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
4 candy canes crushed
Directions
Bake your sugar cookies as directed. Let cool at least 30 minutes. If you have a store bought tube of dough, you may want to roll out the chilled dough and use fun cookie cutter shapes. If you have a ready mix package or have made your own dough, be sure to refrigerate the dough for at least 3 hours before attempting to roll it out (it will be too soft otherwise).
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, a small crock pot, or even in a microwaveable bowl. If the chocolate looks bubbly on top, or a stiff layer has formed, whip it with a whisk (a spoon won't work).
Dip your cookies in the chocolate and immediately sprinkle with candy cane, then place on foil or wax paper to cool. Let cool until chocolate is complete hardened.
