Colorful Cereal Maraca Treats for Kids

These colorful cereal treats are similar to the classic krispy treats, and just as easy to make, but a whole lot more colorful.

Putting them on a lollipop stick allows for upright presentation and turns them into "maracas" - perfect for any kids theme party, but especially great for our Oogieloves party.

Ingredients

4 teaspoons butter
4 cups mini marshmallows
10 cups colorful cereal {Trix}
8-inch lollipop sticks

Directions

Melt butter in a large pot over low heat. Once the butter is melted add mini marshmallows and stir to coat. Allow marshmallows to melt until smooth. 

Remove pot from heat and add in cereal. Stir to coat and let sit for a few minutes until cool enough to handle it.

Rub hands with a little butter so treats do not stick to them. Form balls and add a lollipop stick to the center. 

Place treats on wax paper and let set up in the refrigerator.

Display the treats upright by placing Styrofoam inside a container {or wrapping a foam block with paper} and inserting the sticks into the foam. Cover the Styrofoam with paper shreds or small candies.
