Giving and receiving holiday cards is one of the most fun and time-honored traditions of the season. However, as the Christmas lights come down and the holiday season comes to an end, we are faced with a dilemma: What do we with all the cards? To throw them away might seem wasteful, while saving them appears pointless.

Well, we're here to show you how saving those old holiday cards is not so pointless after all! In fact, getting a little creative with your old cards can make for some truly amazing crafts that you will be able to use for years to come.

Check out these fun and crafty ideas for ways in which you can repurpose your own Christmas cards!

Holiday Card Wreath

Combine two classic Christmas traditions by making your holiday wreath out of Christmas cards. Not only will you be able to upcycle your old cards, but you will also undoubtedly have the most creative holiday wreath on the block! We especially love this one.

Holiday Card Puppets

This idea is perfect for the kids! Simply out the figures from your holiday cards (think Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus) and stick them onto popsicle sticks, and you've got some very cute, very budget friendly holiday toys.

Holiday Card Bookmark

Absolutely love a particular image or design from one of your old holiday cards? Then here's a great option for you-- especially if you like to read. All you need to do is cut out your card in the shape of a bookmark, and have it laminated! This makes for an adorable bookmark.

Holiday Card Postcards

Think your old holiday cards cannot be used as cards again? Think again! By cutting along the creased line of the card, you'll be left with just the front half so that you may reuse it as a postcard. Now all you need is a stamp!

Holiday Card Gift Tags

Cut small rectangles out of your holiday cards to create cute and festive gift tags. You'll just need a hole-punch and some ribbon in order to attach them to your presents!
