Cute Love Bug Homemade Valentines

Make your valentine a pom pom love bug this Valentine’s Day. This is a fun craft that the kids can help with and I bet you already have most of the supplies in your craft supply stash.

You can attach magnets or clothespins to these lady bugs for year round display. You could also skip the banner, use felt for the leaf and add a barrette or headband to the back for a unique hairpiece. These love bugs are sure to make hearts swoon. After whipping up a batch of love bugs, have your kids help you make conversation heart marshmallow pops.

Supplies:

2 inch Red Pom Poms

1/2 inch Black Pom Poms

3mm Black Pom Poms

Googly Eyes

Green Cardstock

Scissors

Craft Glue

White Paper

Directions:

Step 1: Glue a 1/2-inch black pom pom to a 2 inch red pom pom, this will be the lady bug's head.

Step 2: Glue 2 small googly eyes to the 1/2-inch black pom pom.

Step 3: Glue several 3mm black pom poms to the top of the 2 inch red pom pom to look like lady bug spots.

Step 4: Cut a leaf shape out of green cardstock.

Step 5: Cut a long thin banner shape out of the white paper and write or type “Happy Valentine’s Day Love Bug” on it. Glue to the green leaf.

Step 6: Glue the lady bug on top of the banner and leaf.
