Decorate with Scenes from the Love Boat

The Love Boat filmed during actual cruises, so your party decorations should create the feel of a cruise ship setting with a retro twist, of course. (The show ran from 1977 until 1986.) Many of the scenes took place around the swimming pool and bar. Try to host your Love Boat theme party at a pool, set a bar up outside and add in a few cruise-worthy accessories to complete the look.

• Create your own life preservers using foam wreath forms found at craft stores and painting on the words Love Boat with black craft paint.
• Throw around paper streamers or silly string like passengers who are pulling out to sea.
• Set out real or artificial plants such as palm trees or ferns.
