It's quite easy to create a costume for your Diego and Dora costume party. An all too common scenario I encounter when planning parties:"Okay, I just have to tell you that I spent literally 2 hours on the phone and online today searching for a Diego costume and no one in LA has them. You can find some bad ones online but they are like 45 bucks plus 25 bucks expedited shipping and since my son is gonna refuse to wear it (he really doesn't like costumes) I'm not going to both, I'm just going to make him a homemade one! So it will look kinda dumb...is that okay?"
Not to worry! If you don't want to spend the money on buying a costume, find articles of clothing around the house that match the outfits worn by the characters in the show. For example, to dress your child up like Diego, find a pair of navy shorts, a teal T-shirt, a tan vest, and a red messenger bag. For Dora, a pair of red shorts, a pink T-shirt, and a purple backpack will do the trick!
To get creative, head to your local head store and make a necklace with beads that spell the word, "Dora." For my son, Lucas, I dressed him in a safari one piece, safari hat, and sneakers I found at Janie and Jack.
