Now that you've got a bushel of apples at home, why not get a little crafty with them and create fun fall crafts? Apple prints are easy and fun for kids to do too! Here, step-by-step instructions on how to make this cute little tote bag, perfect for your child to carry around her books, stickers and more.

Supplies

1 plain canvas child-sized tote
Red fabric paint
Green fabric paint
2 sponge brushes
Paper plate
Apple
Knife
Brown permanent marker
Thin cardboard

Directions

Cut the apple in half, taking out any seeds.

Squirt a bit of red and a bit of green paint (keep them seperate!) onto a paper plate. Dip one half of an apple, cut side down, lightly into the red paint. Then, smooth out using a sponge brush or lightly press it against a paper towel so it is not too saturated.

Place a thin piece of cardboard into the bag so that when you dip the apple, the paint does not seep through to the other layer. Firmly press the apple half, facing down where you would like your first print to go. Press for a few seconds and then gently lift.

Repeat with more of the same color or switch it up and dip the clean apple half, face down, into the green paint and repeat.

Let dry. To finish, draw on apple stems using a brown marker.

Simple, fun and festive, this tote is perfect for your child to carry around her books, stickers and more, or to use yourself when grocery shopping!
