Bold glassware is all the rage this season, making china hutches look more like a shelf in a sweet shop than a cabinet full of dishes. As coveted and eye catching as these candy colored dishes are, many of them bear a hefty price tag better suited for bejeweled goblets and ivory handled utensils, making them just out of reach for us normal folk.
This simple, yet effective craft tutorial brings the goods from the tippy top shelf down to a more obtainable level that everyone can enjoy. Add a splash of festive color to your next party table without breaking the bank with this easy, breezy step-by-step for confetti glasses that spell out party all on their own.
Plain, inexpensive glassware (Dollar stores and thrift shops are goldmines! )
Acrylic paints in various colors
Fine tipped brush
Starting from the bottom of the glass and working your way up, dab small dots onto glass with your first paint color. I find it looks the best if you start with dots that are closer together or even overlapping and let them spread out as you move upward on your glass.
Repeat the process with your second, third or fourth color until desired look is achieved. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors and patterns, the sky is the limit, and if worst comes to worst, you can always wipe or chip off any paint that doesn’t tickle your fancy!
