Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and the countdown is officially on!
Costumes, pumpkin patches and haunted houses. I love it all! Print out these free printables and make your own Halloween countdown blocks. The kiddos will enjoy changing the blocks every day and counting down to trick or treating.
You can buy large 3.5 inch blocks at your local hardware store and have them cut the blocks down to size for you. A little secret of mine to get the printables flush against the blocks is to file down the edges with a nail file.
You may want to throw a pre-Halloween craft party and have guests make their own countdown blocks. Don’t forget to check out these Halloween party ideas for inspiration.

Supplies:
Wooden Blocks (2 – 3.5 x 3.5 inch blocks & a 10 x 3.5 inch block)
White Cardstock
Straight Edge Trimmer or Scissors
Directions:
Step 1: Use the black paint to paint the wooden blocks and allow to dry completely.

Step 2: Download and print out the countdown block printables on white cardstock. Cut out the printables using a straight edge trimmer or scissors.

Step 3: Add a coat of Mod Podge to the “days until Halloween” printable and attach to the large 10x3.5 inch block. Add a second coat of Mod Podge on top of the printable.

Step 4: Attach numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5 to the first block using Mod Podge. Adhere numbers 0,1,2,6,7,8 to the second block using using Mod Podge (the 6 can also be used as a 9 when flipped upside down). Add a second coat of Mod Podge on top of the printables to secure to the block. Allow to dry.
Step 5: Stack the smaller blocks on top of the larger block and start your Halloween countdown!
