When I was a kid, the goodie bags at birthday parties were always the best part of the celebration. I mean it wasn't even my birthday and I was getting a present? Score! My mom used to tell me how much time and consideration she put into each of my birthday parties so I know how stressful they can be.

If you love planning parties that have a more personal touch, it is really easy to put together a creative DIY goodie bag without spending big bucks. You can do this with a few items that are already in your home or kid's craft bin and the birthday boy or girl will have so much fun helping you craft!

Supplies

Brown paper bags
Colorful paint
Paint brushes
Sponge
Ribbon
Scissor
Colored cardstock or construction paper
White computer paper
Fun stickers
Tape

Directions

Step 1: Take a brown paper bag and fold the top part of the bag down about an inch of the way.

Step 2: Make 6 incisions with a scissor in the top of the fold.

Step 3: Cut out a 4x6" piece of white paper and a 5x7" piece of colored cardstock paper and adhere them together with a few fun stickers.

Step 4: Take an old sponge from your kitchen and paint a fun shape onto it for your goodie bag. We chose to paint a cupcake for our craft.  Place the sponge with paint gently on your white paper and press down.

Step 5: Once the paint has dried on your white piece of paper, tap it to your brown paper bag.

Step 6: Fill your bag with your goodies. This can be anything from little toys to candy!

Step 7: Loop your ribbon through the holes you cut in step 2 and curl them at the ends if needed.
