The warm flicker of candle light really compliments the sparkle of faux jewels in this quick and easy DIY party idea. Dress up your own plain votive candles with this inexpensive how-to for your next party, or to add a little glow to an everyday dinner!

Supplies

acrylic faux jewels – assorted
glue gun and hot glue sticks
small glass votive candle holder
tea lights or small votive candles

Directions

Step 1: Clean and dry your glass votive holder. You can also use a large shot glass or small glass from a thrift store or garage sale or even a wine glass if you’d like. Grouping several small glasses together makes a nice look, so make sure you have enough supplies for as many candles as you wish to have.

Step 2: Select the arrangement of jewels you’d like to use. Smaller jewels work best on the rounded edge of a glass. If you’re making several candle holders, feel free to make them all one color to tie your look together, or mix things up for a more eclectic arrangement.  Add a drop of hot glue to your first jewel and press it to the top of your glass. Continue with each jewel in your pattern along the top rim of the glass, or however you desire.

Step 3: Add a tea light or small candle inside, position on your table, light and enjoy the sparkle!
