DIY Monogram Letter Bookshelf Craft

Celebrations, along with the rest of Pinterest-loving world, have been big fans of crafts with letters this year. Some of our favorites have been fabric colored letters, perfect for hanging on a wall or entryway, washi tape covered letters and even monogrammed canvas art.

This letter C craft is not only an easy summer idea to dress up your bookcase, but it's also really budget friendly. We bought all of our supplies from a great craft site, Create for Less for under $10! 

Here's what you'll need:

An 8" paper mache letter "C" (or any letter you prefer)
A few feet of yard. (We chose to use a strawberry orange blend)
A scissor
Tape

Directions

Start by attaching a piece of tape to the end of your piece of yarn.

Tape the yarn to the back of your letter so that it is not showing. This does not have to be done perfectly because once you start wrapping the yarn, it should cover up all of the tape. 

Start wrapping your yarn around the bottom of your letter. Make sure you do this tightly so that the yarn does not move once you are complete. 

Once you have reached the top, you can cut your yarn. You can tuck the end of the yarn underneath the others, or if it doesn't bother you, tape it to the back where it cannot be show. 

We used our letter to bring a fun, DIY element to our bookcase. We love the strawberry orange yarn as it brought a color block type feel to our letter C without having to purchase three different colors seperately. 10 points for being budget friendly! 

We could also see this being a simple and fun craft for kids to put in their room. Loop a thick ribbon on top and you can hang it on their wall surrounded by family pictures for a pretty decoration.
