As soon as March arrives I’m ready for spring décor and bright colors. This year I’m adding color to items that I already own around the house, like this candle vase, with one of the simplest craft tools around - vinyl.
Whether you have a die cutting machine or not this is a simple project that is very easy to make. Even the kids can help you with this craft project! Get creative with how you use the vinyl and what you use it on. You don't need to limit yourself to single colored dots or glass vases.
Circle punch or die cutting machine
Step 1: Begin by cutting out your vinyl circles and if you have another decorative shape punch that would work as well feel free to use it. You don't have to stick with solid color designs either - a few more ideas would be to die cut a chevron pattern to wrap around the vase, cut flowers and add adhesive pearl rhinestones in the center, or to wrap the vase entirely with vinyl. Really, your creativity is the limit here.
Step 2: To apply the vinyl dots, peel the backing off and place the dots around the vase. Cover the vase with as many as you like and you could even alternate with different colors of vinyl.
Step 3: Fill your vase with flowers, candles or anything else you'd like to display.
