DIY Rope Frame

Apr 6, 2012

A great way to personalize any celebration, particularly a kids birthday party, is through the use of photos. An easy way to do this, while still keeping in theme with your party is with inexpensive photo frames touched up with a little DIY elbow grease.

To add to the rustic decor of the cowboy birthday party I did, I made a rope frame to hold a photo of the birthday boy. It'd also be a fantastic way to incorporate other party inspiration, like your invitation, as we've done here. The rope is reminiscent of the lassos that all cowboys know how to use, but was also so inexpensive to get in bulk.

Supplies

Jute rope
inexpensive frame with wide border
hot glue gun & glue sticks

Directions

Step 1: Begin at an inside corner and apply hot glue down one side of the frame.

Step 2: Place the rope along the glue and press it down to allow it to set for a moment. Continue gluing and pressing around the entire frame in a spiral fashion.
