What would a proper tea party be without proper invitations? In celebration of the wide world of freshly brewed tea, this ancient beverage is responsible for inspiring everything on the party’s menu from cookies to sandwiches, so why should the invitations be free of tea?

These curious little invites were inspired by the iconic shape many tea bags come in, and the delicate envelops their mysterious tastes and scents. Your guests will beam with excitement when they receive one of these tiny tea bag invitations in the mail, and you can even give them a taste of what is to come by stashing a few sprinkles of loose tea in the envelope itself.

Supplies

2 sheets decorative paper in two colors
Teabag template
Envelope template
String
Glue or tape
Pen
Scissors

Directions

Step 1: Download and print out both the envelope and teabag templates.

Step 2: Trace the templates on two contrasting sheets of paper. Follow the diagram to fold the envelope, using a bone folder or ruler to make sharp, straight creases.

Step 3: Print or write your invitation’s details on the teabag shaped piece and glue or tape a small length of string to bag to resemble a tea bag. Step 4: Slip invitation into envelope and if desired sprinkle a pinch of tea in after it before sealing with glue or a foil seal.
