Out with the round and in with the edge!
One of this year's biggest party trends is square design - be it in the plates you put your food on or the lines that guide your decor, squares are there, everywhere in 2012.
We've rounded up a few of our favorite ways we've seen the square party trend taking hold in celebrations. Take a peek and let this latest craze into your own party planning!

Tables
There's always been this argument that round tables are best for parties because they encourage more chatting and mingling amongst guests. We love that MJ Paperie went the other way with this Fiesta celebration and used square tables, instead. Keeping the tables smaller still allow for easy conversation and interaction, but they create a much cleaner, more streamlined look thanks to their crisp edges. (Check out those bold table cloths, too - MJ Paperie hits on all the latest trends at this party!)

Party Banners
Kelly, over at the Party Dress, shared this ADORABLE tea party on her blog recently. Not only were we woozy with love over the girly details throughout the party, we were really impressed with her use of bold lines and edges. Though you'll still find lots of rounded love in this party, what catches your eye most are her bright straight lines and the personalized banner she crafted using squares, not triangles!

Decorations
We first caught a glimpse of this wedding on our contributor Chris Nease's blog, Celebrations at Home. Behind this creative use of edgy decor though, is Charm Events. Think outside the box when staging your party's decor and you, too, can create a trendy, beautiful backdrop that captures the mood and theme of your celebration - square style!

Party Foods
While the cupcake may still reign supreme, edgy foods are beginning to take hold when it comes to party desserts. Our AMAZING contributor, Krissy Winnick can attest to that - those are her latest waffles she shared with us - Funfetti flavor and edgy style! We're betting you'll see lots more brownies, bars and waffles popping up soon! Check out her other yummy creations here.
