Newspaper Nails (How-To)
Ladies, you are going to love this one. This is a DIY which won’t even require you to leave your home! Perfect if you’re really strapped for time and want a manicure that is sure to be a conversation starter. Here’s how to get this look:
Light colored nail polish
First, cut your newspaper into medium sized squares. Set aside.
File, buff, and prep your nails as you normally would.
Paint your nails using your favorite light polish! White or beige would work well.
Once your nails are dry, use a cotton swab to generously apply rubbing alcohol to your nail.
Take one of your newspaper squares and apply it to the same nail.
Gently press down until you are positive the newspaper text transferred onto your nail (think temporary tattoos).
Pull the square off slowly and gently, and you have an incredibly unique and chic design on your nails!
Tip: You don’t have to stick strictly to text. Use other pages in the paper such as the comics or crossword section for a fun design as well. Or, use a paper that is in a language other than your own. I used a Russian newspaper and had some fun Cyrillic letters on my nails. A great conversation starter!
