These adorable Easter Bonnet Cookies were created by Flickr user Amanda Lucas, and her daughter Alice photographed them!

Steps:

  1. To make your own version of Amanda's cookies, bake a batch of round sugar cookies.
  2. Lightly ice the cookies and place a marshmallow in the center or a domed cookie like a Nilla wafer or a Mallomar. (This will give the hat its structure and still be edible.)
  3. Roll out pastel-colored fondant and cut a circle that is about 1 inch larger than the diameter of your cookie.
  4. Center the fondant circle over the marshmallow (or whatever you are using) on the cookie, and place it on top smoothing it out; trim excess fondant around the cookie perimeter.
  5. Decorate with fondant ribbons and flowers, sugar flowers, or mini candies.
