Who says you can’t have your favorite home-cooked comfort foods while tailgating? With just a little extra prep work the night before, you can serve up warm, delicious slices of French toast at your next gathering. You’ll be the MVP of the party!

Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread
8 eggs or 2 cups of egg substitute
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Syrup, butter, fresh berries, and/or whipped cream for topping
Directions:
The night before:
Mix the eggs (or egg substitute), milk, vanilla, and spices together in a large bowl with a locking lid and place in refrigerator.
If desired, you can also slice your bread ahead of time and store in a plastic container.
While at the tailgate:
Heat a flat griddle on the grates of grill over medium heat.
Soak slices of French bread in egg mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture on each side.
Spray griddle with nonstick cooking spray and add as many slices of bread onto the skillet as will fit at a time. Cook until brown on both sides, flipping bread when necessary, about 2-3 minutes per side
Serve French toast slices with butter, syrup, or fresh berries and whipped cream.
