If you are hosting a St. Patrick's Day dinner at home, you don't have to spend a lot of money to dress up your table for the occasion. It is so easy to create a simple, yet elegant place setting with just a few items you most likely already have in your home.
Start with a simple white bowl and plate. To dress them up for the occasion, I painted a large four leaf clover shape in the center of the bowl and painted smaller ones on the border of the plate simply using a hole-puncher, post-its and Wilton icing color!
To make the napkin holder is a simple green fabric floret. To make the floret, cut the fabric into strips. Sew a running stitch on one side and pull the string to ruffle up the flower. Form it into a circle & sew to keep the form. Repeat these steps for each layer of the flower. You can see above that I only did two layers. Then stack all of your layers & attach them by sewing a cute green button in the middle. Glue it to an ordinary napkin ring to give it that festive flair.
When setting your table, make sure you start with a charming green tablecloth. Place the plate down first with the bowl resting on top. To either side, lay your utensils and napkin. Finally, sprinkle gold coins around the setting for a special St. Patrick's Day touch!
