Easy Popcorn Snack Cone Idea

Movie nights were a favorite of mine as a kid. Every Friday I'd look forward to a pizza dinner and movie marathon with my cousins and a couple of friends who lived on the block. More often than not, movie night was always at my house and my mom made sure they were evenings to remember.

One craft we used to do as kid that stands out to this day are these easy popcorn snack cones.

My mom had a ton of wrapping paper left over from a birthday party and decided that instead of shoving it to the back of the closet for later use (which inevitably meant being forgotten), she showed us an easy way to make a snack cone.

It was perfect for our little hands to shovel up tons of popcorn from the tins my grandfather would send us from The Popcorn Factory and we'd have it to hold while we watched our movie.

And because they were so sturdy (and precious to us!) we held on to them for weeks at a time, with each of us customizing with our cones with stickers from our sticker books - not sure if you remember how cool sticker books were back in the day!

Supplies

Directions

Begin by cutting a square from your wrapping paper. We measured ours width wise first and it came to a 2 foot x 2 foot square after a bit of trimming. Use the old trick of folding diagonal to get a perfect square shape if you can't get your hands on a ruler.

Once you've got your square, fold the top right corner to the bottom left so it makes a triangle.

Next, pull the two sides to the center of the corner on top - you'll make a cone shape. Fold the top ends and tuck them in the center and secure with tape.
