Peanut sauce is widely used in dishes within Asian culture. From beef satay to a spicy sauce for chicken and veggies, there are so many recipes that call for a good peanut sauce.
Traditional recipes are made with ground roasted peanuts and spices like cumin or coriander seed, but in this recipe, I'm going to show you an easy way to make a spicy peanut sauce at home using smooth peanut butter and a few other ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
3 scallions, white and green parts, trimmed and roughly chopped
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor.
Process until smooth, adding water, 1 tablespoon at a time (up to ¼ cup), as needed to thin sauce.
Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
