This recipe is too easy! My mother used to make it as a sauce for mini meatballs at all of her cocktail parties and I use it for grilled chicken.

I'm sure it appeared in the 50s or 60s on the side of a bottle somewhere. So, if anyone has the origin of this simple 2-ingredient classic recipe, leave a comment!

Ingredients

  • 3 (12 oz.) bottles Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1 (1 lb.) jar Welch's Grape Jelly

Directions

  • Pour chili sauce and jelly into a medium saucepan. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, until jelly melts. Remove from heat and cool to allow flavors to blend. Use as a bbq sauce for chicken, ribs, or whatever you like.

    Makes about 4 cups
