Edible DIY Mason Jar Bridal Shower Favors

Favors that coordinate with the theme of a bridal shower are a good way to add that extra layer of detail that ensures guests know how much you appreciate them sharing in the celebration and will keep the fun they had at the shower going a little longer.

In the past, it's always been popular to pass around long living mementos like picture frames, wine bottle corks or even little kitchen utensils as bridal shower favors. While we're certainly fans of these favor ideas, they can be a little pricey if you've got a real crowd. So, why not take the DIY approach and add a bit of flavor to the mix?

For this "recipe" themed bridal shower, I decided to fill small jars with a hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows. Coordinating stickers (that matched my shower's invitation) from Pear Tree Greetings dressed up the jars just enough to keep them classy, but not overly embellished.

You can always elect to fill your own mason jars with an alternative mix - like a favorite dry cookie dough or even s'mores ingredients! Just try to keep it in theme with your bridal shower theme and remember that the fewer ingredients you need, the less expensive your favors will run you.

Stock up on jars as you begin planning and ask any of the other bridesmaids to help with the effort - you won't have to worry about purchasing these when the time comes!

Filling Ingredients:

1 cup cocoa powder

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer

Directions:

Combine all ingredients, and mix well. Store in a reseal-able container like a mason jar and close tightly. Attach your label/decorative embellishment as well as a tag with instructions on how to use.

To use this recipe simply mix 2 tablespoons powder into 6 ounces of hot water. Yum!
