Elevate your dishes for easy-access for all of your guests. You don't want any traffic around the buffet table; this will help the circulation.You can find plenty of options around your home, or your local home stores. Try any of these:

glass blocks
bricks (ideal for hot stoneware)
flower pots

Another way to create height is to place several books in varying height on top of your linen.

Then place linen of the same color on top of the books...fluff the top cloth creating puffy clouds, fold under the edges, place your platters out and voila a beautiful buffet!
