As the designers arrive, provide them with a nametag with a mock designer name.
They can choose a famous designer they would like to be or create their own. Give them a felt piece of fabric for the designers to create their nametags with a glitter glue pen, and then have them wear their nametags and use these names during the party.
Make sure everyone has brought a frock of sorts to transform.
Upon their arrival, give the designers a small sewing kit to use during their design challenge. The kits and nametags can serve as the party favor.
Watch an episode
Get the kids into the party mood by watching an episode of Project Runway!
Project Runway Design Challenge.
Give the kids an hour or so to make what is old into something new. This will take up most of the party time and can be as creative as the kids want to make it. Afterwards, have them wear their designs on the runway explaining what their design is, how they came up with it, and why they love it! Make sure to take pictures galore!
Have an Awards Ceremony.
Make sure to have enough awards for each designer so that everyone receives an award.
