Although these firecrackers won't make noise or light up, they are still fun to put together. Make some in different patriotic colors, and use them as decorations at your Fourth of July celebration.

Supplies
  • empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls
  • craft paint (red, white or blue)
  • foil star stickers
  • tissue paper (to match paint color)
  • craft glue or tape
  • coordinating ribbon, ric rac or other decorative trim
  • red, white, blue and silver chenille stems

  • foil star stickers[#*#]http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/silver-star-stickers-965434/[#*#]

Directions

  • Paint an empty toilet paper roll in your color of choice. You can also use a paper towel roll cut in half.
  • Decorate with foil star stickers.
  • Cut a piece of tissue paper (double or triple layers will provide the most support) to fit over each opening of the tube. Glue or tape into place.
  • Use ribbon or decorative trim to cover the edges of the tissue paper.
  • Tie a knot approximately two inches from the end of three chenille stems. Curl the other end of the stems.
  • Insert each stem into the tissue paper covering one end of the paper roll so that the knot sits on top holding it in place.
